kuhla
russia. strong. source -->> http://militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?t=99662 Baron Harkonnen is considered a very reliable source for information on current/past Soviet Tank information. The below are a conglomeration the thread he started about the art system including any important facts I thought he mentioned. You can notice it standing at the rear of the photo. Next generation Russian SP Artillery! It is known under "Coalition" code-name. Armament 2X152 mm guns of improved stell alloy, making them lighter and compact, loading is fully automated at any angle. The rate of fire is twice of that of the modern SPA (more than 16 rounds min.) More than 70 rounds onboard. And here is a drawing, it will be (in final version) based on future russian tank ob. 195 chassis. .... It is rather complex system, first of all it's gun automatics and loader, which has to load it at any angle. .... It is not a tank, but a SPA on tank chassis. It is 1-st known case of this with large callibre guns. .... It is compitable with current separate loading munitions. .... No! It hasn't to be aligned to 0? to be reloaded ! It reloads at any angle from movable platform which feads from the bustle. .... Yes, but very modefied for purpose of SPA, which differs from MBT in it's role. .... It is a completely new development, completly different programm, the modernization of MSTA-s is going on the different programm. .... They fire not simultaneously but one after other in a small period of time, which nobody notice when thay "arrive" .... You Sure ?! I don't completely understand, but it can be certanly used in "direct" visual fire role. .... http://img113.imageshack.us/my.php?image=untitled1lb2.jpg .... The auotolaoader consists of movable convayers in the bastle and the "transporter" which collects the round and charge from it and moves it on rails and loads to the guns at the positions on which they are in the moment. .... 1-st you are compare a full-capability howitzer with 70 on board fully-automatic loaded rounds and capability twice more of any modern SPA with ( only the new pzh 2000 has comparable 12 round/59,7 secons rate) the rather limited use Bandkanon with 40 degree elevation and 30 degree gorizontal traverce! .... PS... for another comparisson... Bandkanon has 25 km range vs 50 for the "coalition".
