kuhla
The above trailer, I put it here but I have no intention of ever seeing it. It's based on a book, which I have not read other than the wikipedia synopsis, which has some nice ideas and a heavy heavy dose of political motive. I've had the book advertised to me as a "must read" by people I would label as extreme conservatives which is a term I don't think I throw around lightly. Supposedly one of the goriest movies that has been released recently, meaning I don't really want to see it, but I figure it might be malaphax's cup of tea. I posted it just because I found the first half of that trailer funny....

kuhla
I don't think any of these are brand new but I'm just getting around to typing this up.... The dialog sounds terrible. The visuals look ridiculous. I can has mute button? Having seen the original that this is very loosely based on (Battle for the Planet of the Apes), I'm expecting this to be terrrrrible. I've heard about this before with other artists from that time. No idea if it's really true or not. Meh. I looked it up on wiki and apparently it is based on a true story about Uday Hussein. kuhla
Unfortunately there are not a ton of new trailers out there but I still wanted to post some news about different media on the horizon. This song track is so overused. Not that it isn't good but it's just.... heard it too many times now.... Aaron Sims, who is currently working on developing characters for Rise of the Planet of the Apes and The Amazing Spider-Man, has just released this short teaser trailer for Archetype, which has the fantastic tagline "Your memories are just a glitch." We like the premise (a robot that remembers despite its maker's wishes to suppress these odd "glitches") and love Sims' past work. Consider us excited for an android feature that isn't about Rock'em Sock'em Robots. source - http://twitchfilm.com/news/2011/06/jan-kou...windwalkers.php Some very intriguing news here via excellent French animation blog Catsuka, who caught word of an upcoming animated feature to be directed by Jan Kounen. Titled Windwalkers the film is set in a world constantly buffeted by powerful winds, following a small band specially trained to find their source. If the official website is any indication the feature will be produced in English. Imagine a world buffeted by winds whose force surpass our understanding. Imagine a group of men born to chase those winds until their final breath. Within the deafening noise of the wind, on the Lower Slopes, an elite group of twenty-three children were raised for the sole purpose of facing the ever blowing gusts, climbing up windwards for the rest of their lives. Their sole purpose ; to find the mysterious source of the wind in the Upper Reaches. There have been thirty-three attempts in eight hundred years, thirty three Hordes that have failed. My name is Sol, scribe. I speak to you today in the name of the thirty-fourth, and most probably the last... Kounen - the director of Dobermann, Blueberry (aka Renegade) and 99 Francs - is quite simply one of the strongest visual directors in the world and the idea of him tackling animation, where the only limits on the visuals will be his imagination, is more than a little exciting. I know we just saw that last night but here it is a 2nd time for reference purposes. Peter Stormare. Peter. Stormare. Needs more Benny Hinn. The description said ""...is an ultra-violent action thriller..."" so I thought I'd post it for malaphax. *sad face*

Turvy
"The Guard" looks hilarious. Would also watch "Detective Dee" and "In Time".
Malaphax
The guard looks good, I would only watch detective dee if the dubstep was in the actual movie. Both blackthorn and headhunters have jaime lannister in them. Underworld I would watch just for kate beckensale (also it has tywin lannister in it). Rosa looks solid as well. In time looked good when i first saw the trailer and it looks good still, the concept is decent and I'd like to see what they do with it. kuhla
I hate scrolling through this thread seeing so many black squares from trailers that have been taken down in the name of "copyright infringement." I cannot for the life of me understand why any company would want a trailer/teaser for their product to be taken down. kuhla
Not quite a trailer but Peter Jackson has been putting up a lot of production video blogs for The Hobbit and some of them are kind of interesting in terms of just seeing the whole process of modern movie making.
