JEEBUS. Buy one. I dare you.

To prove what? Multiple people have them. They perform just as many people expected. Would I like one? Sure. Would I like 3? I'd love 3. Considering my daily usage patterns right now it wouldn't make a night and day differences and it would put me in a financial tight spot so no. I'm not going to buy one.

Wow.....almost wish I didn't get my U2412M right now.....could always sell it when I have more time to play around with my system.

Picture makes total sense.....too good to be true...

Well it seems like quite a few people have bought one. It is true. You can believe.

Proper ebay link - http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_ipg=&_...520Size=27%2522

NOTE THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT VERSIONS. YOU WOULD NEED TO RESEARCH.

Update on this because I have been following the saga. The PCB that the original models were made with has changed. The new version does not go past 60Hz anymore. Apparently the 100-120Hz PCBs were more expensive to produce so they stopped making them. Quite a few people got the older model but any new people are out of luck. Of course the size, IPS quality and pixels still make this a good deal. Since we are dealing with China here and apparently anything is possible if you email the right people, overclock.net http://www.overclock.net/t/1232084/yamakas...00hz-guaranteed is organizing in contact with people who can source the components to either make a large group buy of either the old PCBs themselves to swap out in their existing monitors or to buy newly built monitors with the requested PCBs in them. Interesting situation.

That's really cool...I would be in for one.

One guy one the first page is spreading FUD by saying its the RAMDAC causing the HZ limitation though (DAC = digital to analog converter)...there's no analog in it...

You should register and post in that thread if you want one.... he already has over 140 names on a list and is narrowing down feature list to try and make the order....

Remember this and the discussion about it on previous page. Now available at microcenter at the same low price just with locked 60Hz refresh rate: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_...duct_id=0384780

I was looking it up the other day....freaking OCZ.net mods locked the thread and made the company go through them.

Yea, I was a little pissed when that happened. I have no idea where to "pick up the trail" other than to PM the OP and see if he has something to recommend.

Looks like it happened eventually. The monitors with the older, overclockable 2B PCBs made it back on the market as a limited edition with a bit of a price premium but still not bad for what it offers: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Overclockable-Yama...=item20c62fb0ac

EDIT: Read the engrish on the pictures... LOL... "I communicate as it is a movie theater deep emotion" ..... pure gold material right there....

EDIT 2: "Air Hore" holy shit.... ahahahaa......

Richard, if you are getting one of the korean monitors, just wait a little bit to make sure everything is good with these new editions. Follow updates here: http://120hz.net/ The main thing to worry is the multi-input ones have higher input latency (but still have low response time + all the other benefits like a high refresh rate, etc.)

why so expensive ?

Demand brought the price up. Its $305 for 60 Hz, everyone wants a 120 Hz, and they sold out on eBay for $580/pop for the 120 Hz models.

Yeah, what Richard said. If you want the 60Hz model you can still find plenty of those on ebay (link) for around $300. The $555 model has the special 120Hz sauce and is in high demand.

My goodness....well I have the following to say after getting my Catleap:

This Asus, while a good gaming competitor cannot match the Catleap's 2560x1440 S-IPS display for color and resolution. The Catleap blows away my Dell U2410 1920x1200 in terms of crispness and clarity. After seeing this compared to my 1920x1200 at 24" compared to 2560x1440 @27", I can't imagine 1080 at 27".

My old 2407 died today. Well this blows... So I need a new monitor. I plan on ordering it by tomorrow at the latest. I'm very tempted to just say fuck everything and buy another u2412. That being said, I'm not an idiot with my head in the sand. I realize that there are very good monitors like the catleap/yamakasi that I should be looking at. This issue is that last I checked stock was low, and the 100hz is probably not something I could even find to purchase at this time. As such, I have to decide if I want to buy a 27" 60hz panel which by all accounts is a very nice monitor, or if I should stick with a dell for around the same price that will match perfectly and come in 16:10.

Also I would most likely have to use ebay for the yamakasi. Here's a quick couple entries, one is a "used" monitor someone is selling up for auction and the other is someone that claims to have 8 and hopefully isn't screwing with me. But I have heard they can be at cheap as 300? Maybe I just need a bit of direction and guidance.
