Fuel Efficiency

Recommended Posts

I've been paying attention to trucks a lot over the past few years and started to see how they are finally paying more attention to aerodynamics. It seems that Cummins/Eaton finally has a new "Super Truck" that has a huge 54% increase in fuel efficiency compared to standard semi's. Its actually pretty crazy at how fuel efficient they are compared to a consumer level light to medium duty vehicles.

A 65,000 lb semi truck can now get about 10 MPG (for comparison a horrid 6000 lb H2 Hummer got around 8 to 12 MPG), due to improvements in engine efficiency, reduction parasitic losses and just lots of aerodynamic improvements.
