kuhla
Just an FYI, I was surprised to see, if anyone needs a budget laptop, this deal is still going on.
kuhla
Different laptop but related to the topic, add ~$100 and you get a number of upgrades (i3 -> i5, 4gb -> 8gb, 500gb hdd-> 128gb ssd) in the laptop below vs the one in the OP. I would argue it's a better value than the Asus.$460 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CGGOZOW/HP 15-ay013nrIntel Core i5 6200U, 2.3GHz, 2 cores 4 threads (Skylake)Intel graphics HD 5208GB DDR3128GB SSD15.6", 1080p screen

Jedi2155
Is this machine aimed for a parent?

Both the CPU and GPU are relatively new and a little beefier than I feel is really needed for your average casual user so I was surprised to see something like that under the $500 mark. EDIT: and I forgot to mention that 1080p screen res is unfortunately still not 100% standard in budget laptops
