Launch is officially on Monday 5/23/16 4pm PST.
There will also be another animated video released a day beforehand. There have also been some rumors about the possible addition of between 1-3 new heroes at launch or shortly afterwards.
One of the rumored heroes sounds like a sniper/support type. If they wanted to balance the current hero lineup they would need to add 2 supports and 1 tank to arrive at 6 for each role: offense, defense, tank and support.
Here's a link to some of the rumors about the new hero Sombra:
Also lots of beta numbers. The short story is that overwatch looks like it will be very big and very popular.
Just ordered the Amazon version.
Lucio's wallride is some titanfall shit.
Also this is a pro tf2 player who's switched to overwatch wrecking kids with genji.
Really useful info on Zarya's ability to "rocket jump" on various maps. It's a super long video and the jumps only start around 2:10. Just click through it to get some ideas.
New Overwatch Patch notes (Semi-Official):
The parts you need to know are: McCree's right click got nerfed from 70 damage to 45 damage per bullet (total was 420 damage now 270). They did drop his reload time to be consistent between regular reloads and fan the hammer reloads so there isn't a delay on that anymore.
Widow got her damage and multiplier changed. The short part is that a charged headshot will still do 300 damage, but a fully charged bodyshot has gone from 150 to 120, which means you can't 1shot tracer and zenyatta anymore. The other change is that her zoom in/out animation needs to complete fully now, which stops some people from quickscoping to get a peak at their surroundings and get a small movespeed boost.
I don't think either of these nerfs look too crazy, I feel like McCree might need a small buff to his right click damage but if they bring it up it will most likely be only by 5 more damage.
McCree's right click always felt way too powerful for such a fast ability....
The issue was he was killing tanks faster than reaper, which is against their balance philosophy. Reaper is supposed to wreck tanks, but he needs to get up close and fire off 4-5 shots. McCree on the other hand could flashbang and then fan the hammer twice and it would kill every tank. They want McCree to still be able to counter faster heroes like tracer/genji, but he didn't need the capability of doing 840 damage in 2 seconds to kill lower hp characters.
This will also stop people from spamming right click from range hoping for random shots or breaking reinhardt's shield.
I still think the Widowmaker nerf is the bigger and more important one, I have a feeling she's still going to be very powerful, but suddenly she's going to have to land followup shots or be more accurate.
They're releasing the new support Hero Ana (Pharah's mom). They'll also be changing how competitive works by introducing 1 hero limit per team.
Zenyatta is getting buffs (more shields and faster movespeed while in ult) and D.Va is getting a buff as well (defense matrix is a toggle which has a meter/ammo system).
EDIT: Official PTR Notes:
Also all of the Ana skins from the PTR:
New character might be interesting. I feel that the strength of the sniper shots to heal/damage is going to be a really big factor in determining her strength/weakness.
Not sure how I feel about some of those other changes.
The sniper shots deal 80 damage over 1 second and cannot crit. On allies they heal for 75hp.
The sleep dart is a 3 second sleep which is interrupted by any damage taken.
Her E (heal grenade) heals for 100 and increases any additional healing by 100%. On enemies it deals 60 damage and prevents healing (from healthpacks too).
Her Ult increases damage output by 50%, decreases damage taken by 50% and increases speed for 8 seconds.
Some people are saying she has a higher jump than other heroes but I'm not sure how much that makes a difference.
D.Va received a huge buff because she can now chase people who flee from her area denial. Her defense matrix changes increased her skill cap dramatically and we'll probably start seeing pros pulling off some crazy stuff by toggling it on and off to absorb damage quickly.
Zenyatta just went from borderline playable to scary. I have a feeling even with his very low mobility he might be picked up now because his DPS is still very high and his ultimate is an even better counter ult with the added mobility.
Soldier is getting hit with a pretty big nerf to his longer range damage. While on the flipside McCree is getting his long range damage buffed, I have a feeling we'll start to see more McCree and less soldier.
Mercy buff is going to be scary as hell. I expect this to be toned down before it hits live servers or seeing a nerf on some of these values at a later date.
All the ult charge changes and self healing stuff is minimal, I think the worst affected will be roadhog but even then I think he'll still be played.

Undocumented buff for Lucio went out with the ana patch.
Overwatch got a patch today. It introduces some olympic games skins, one new brawl mode (basically rocket league with 3v3 teams of lucio).
Nothing gameplay related, they did mention that each loot box earned during this event provides 1 item from the olypics themed stuff. The event lasts for 3 weeks.

Season 2 "tentative" changes coming to PTR
It looks like they're modeling the ranked system off of Starcraft 2 (or League of Legends). There will be tiers of Bronze - Grandmaster, ranging from 1-5,000 Once you reach a tier you cannot fall below that tier even if you no longer meet the point minimum for that tier. Your rewards are based upon the highest tier you reach (this is exactly how season 1 was, you are rewarded for highest rank reached not your current rank). They also added ranked decay for top players and they've fixed the sudden death system by using the time bank ruleset instead of coinflip.
It sounds like if both team run out of time and cannot capture the first point it results in a tie which awards 5 points (half the points of a win).
I have a feeling we'll see another round of changes between season 2 and 3. It seems like the developers are iterating different designs quickly, which is good.
The most critical change I saw was they allow only a 500 point difference between players in a party. They do have restrictions like this in League of Legends as well and I'm not surprised to see this happening. I just hope it doesn't affect our group all that much.
