cons:

you must have sport pkg if you want good handling and less bodyroll (cost $1800)

...and now to stay on topic  ....

In the thread I link below, they are talking about rumors that the MkV is detuned from the factory and that they might start offering a chip upgrade to be it up to around 220-230hp. A cheap-warrenty-non-voiding-from-the-dealer-chip-upgrade??! Nice.

When? Goodbye R32! Posted Image

Dunno, but if I had a Mk5 I wouldn't care either cuz the APR chip upgrade is the way to go with 240-250hp from that upgrade vs. the VW one and 1-2 more MPG on top of that.

drive > review :D

yes, i agree :D

in other news...

This guy ( http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2452985 ) just got his stock DSG on 18's on a dyno, he got 174.6hp so, he figures about 13% of the power is lost in the drivetrain on DSG. I wonder if manual has as much loss or more loss? I figure most of the chip mods (APR) should bring the hp back up to the flywheel stock dyno of 200hp :D
