$300 - MonoPrice 27", 1440p, TN, 144hz monitor

Pretty much everything is in the title. If someone needs a cheap 27", 1440p, wants high refresh rate (144hz) and does not want to buy one of those ebay korean monitors then this may be a cheap option.

Well can't be worse than my Yamakasi....although mines is IPS.

Yeah.... I mean ..... if someone really still wants to play the Korean monitor lottery thing the latest model (which I think I have mentioned before) is the Pixio

Not bad. My Yamakasi (with the garbage stand & external brick) has a horrible startup corruption due to temperatures (display is corrupted) and takes a few minutes to warmup. Other than that it still works great after almost 5 years. Been running it an OCed 110 Hz the entire time.

I think people should be more clear about the garbage stand these korean monitors might come with. ITS REALLY GARBAGE.

I bought a monoprice stand to replace the garbage stand it came with. Unfortunately the monoprice stand is just shy of garbage, I had to put in a spacer between the stand's vesa mount and the monitor, because they shipped the stand with 1" screws and the monitor's vesa mounting points are only like 3/8" deep.

At this point I would have a hard time recommending the korean IPS lottery to anyone, especially considering we have some amazing high end displays, the lower end has also been brought way up with some nice 120/144hz 1080p offerings for very reasonable prices.

This is a very similar option from a more reputable brand with less lottery (probably).

I think they're great for secondary displays. You only need 1 or 2 high refresh rate display. My current setup is a mess:

60 Hz (4k), 100 Hz (1440P wide), 110 Hz (1440P).
