Malaphax Posted September 8, 2017 Report Posted September 8, 2017 Quote A Chicago-based financial advisor secretly relocates his family to the Missouri Ozarks when his dealings with a drug cartel go awry. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5071412/?ref_=nv_sr_1 I haven't finished it yet, but I've been enjoying the show so far. Very similar in tone to Breaking Bad, well written and with decent acting. The tone of the show is fairly dark and some of the conflicts between characters involve some seriously biting dialogue. There are some slightly out of place moments that I have some reservations about, but otherwise the show is very well done. Quote
kuhla Posted January 11, 2018 Report Posted January 11, 2018 This is my new casual show. That is all. Quote
kuhla Posted January 19, 2018 Report Posted January 19, 2018 Still watching it casually. Still pretty satisfied with it. Small criticism but I have to say it since I have a little personal experience with this. It does not seem particularly important to the story but the daughter is supposed to be a good swimmer on a competitive swim team however you could have fooled me because her water entries are sad and there is a scene that involves her treading water and she looks pretty uncomfortable which I'm sorry... just... no... kuhla Posted January 24, 2018 Report Posted January 24, 2018 Finished it. Decent acting. Decent story. Pretty easy to recommend for casual viewing. About the ending..... Spoiler I'm a little surprised how unresolved the ending is. Were they killed? Did they live? Did they get to build the Casino? Is he now rich? Did they try to run to the FBI? Who knows? Quote
Malaphax Posted January 24, 2018 Author Report Posted January 24, 2018 It's a still ongoing series. I imagine the next season will go over the points you mentioned. Quote
kuhla Posted September 3, 2018 Report Posted September 3, 2018 Part of the way into the new season. So far more of the same and that is a good thing. Quote
kuhla Posted October 6, 2018 Report Posted October 6, 2018 Finished the new season. Is it a great series? No. Is it a good series? Yes and I easily recommend it. I feels like a little more serious version of Breaking Bad where you have a "normal" family falling deeper and deeper into organized crime whether they want to or not. Quote

Just finished the latest season (season 3). My feelings last time are basically unchanged. Good show. I will definitely continue watching. Still a lot of parallels to Breaking Bad which is not a bad thing. They seemed to go really heavy on the emotional side of things this season and really wanted to explore the mental illness angle. kuhla Posted June 28, 2022 Report Posted June 28, 2022 Finished the latest season (#4) and that finishes the series. Everything, both inside the story and just the show in general, felt like the wheels were starting to come off. Not a good thing. I felt the end was a bit weak especially when they had a few much better opportunities (in my opinion) to have a cleaner ending. Still though I have to say that the show overall was pretty solid and I could still recommend it. Quote
