Malaphax
Quote The Baltimore drug scene, as seen through the eyes of drug dealers and law enforcement. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0306414/ I've heard multiple recommendations for this show for many years now, and finally decided to give it a shot. The show is incredibly well written and directed, I can understand the high praise it received. I've read that the level of detail is so specific that street names and areas described are entirely accurate to real life, and multiple characters are either directly based on real people or an amalgamation of real people. The show is the complete opposite of flashy action oriented cop show, it's almost reminiscent of a docudrama or a movie like Spotlight, there's plenty of borderline boring procedural work that's highlighted. There's very few action sequences and sometimes major events like police chases or arrests are entirely absent, they simply cut to the next scene or have a character describe what happened or sometimes just infer what happened from context. The one personal issue I have with the show is the swearing, while I don't have issues with profanity there are large sections of this show where 'fuck' is every other word - NSFW example - note that this scene specifically plays it for comedy (where basically every word is fuck) but it does begin to wear out when most characters swear constantly. Sidenote: HBO Max hates firefox. I had serious streaming issues with quality going from great to 120p and then back to great, while streaming on firefox (my connection wasn't the issue). Chrome doesn't have this issue.
