Prequel series to Star Wars' 'Rogue One'. In an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue, Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a Rebel hero.

The first three episodes were solid.  The cinematography didn't look as cheap as obi-wan or book of boba fett.  I appreciate that they're willing to make Andor more of an anti-hero.  I also enjoyed that the showrunners are putting in more non-human background characters, I feel like this was severely missing in some of the recent star wars shows.  My concern is the plot and what stories they can find that aren't over the top but still fit as a prequel to rogue one and the original series.  I guess this is a soft recommendation if you're not burned out by star wars.

This show has managed to eclipse what Star Wars always was to me by actually embodying all the cool shit that used to live in people's imaginations and the extended universe.  I cannot praise it enough; except it's now made almost all the recent star wars content look like crap by comparison.

I think it's fair to say I'm not alone in my sentiments because I'm seeing people who were long since burned out on Star Wars sing this show's praises, and compliment the creativity, strong writing, and great acting.

Still haven't gotten around to watching it, but will be excited to. Question though is if it is interesting to someone who might have zero background to Star Wars (have no previous history or understanding of anything about it?) Debating if I should watch it by myself, or with my guest or if I should provide the guest the machete order star wars films first.

hmmmmm. I think the underlying idea is pretty easy to get a hold of. "Empire is oppressive authoritarian government and people are fighting back in different ways for different reasons" is not too complex I think.

The overall quality of the show is very high in my opinion (mostly in agreement with what Malaphax already said) so even if they don't know the context of everything going on there is probably a lot to still enjoy.

Interesting. I'll definitely have to watch the first episode and make a judgement myself as well.

This showed up on my FB feed of a criticism on Andor. I've had a tremendous amount of trouble trying to get people into the Expanse as well but probably only 1/5 people I recommend the Expanse to I can get them to enjoy it.

Finished it last week but posting about it now.

Definitely some of the best Star Wars in a long time for me.

A lot of similarities to Rogue One for a lot of obvious reasons.

I hope there is more to come like this (it doesn't have to be more Andor) but I'm afraid the "it's boring" and "it doesn't sell merchandise" people don't doom the future of this style of Star Wars.

So I finished Andor last night and I think it was absolutely fantastic in writing and story building of what developed the alliance together. There was a LOT of logical pieces that came together and I rewatched parts of Rogue one and saw so many quips and details expanded in Andor such as Melshi was part of Rogue group that assault Scarif for example, the Rebel "Alliance" that was hesitant to work together in Rogue one etc.

I did think the last episode relied on a lot of details that wasn't thoroughly explained though and was confusing in a multitude of ways.

The problem was it wasn't until episodes 3 or 4 that Andor got really good, and its a very slow pace world building that people new to Star Wars would not appreciate. Its shocking to me how many people I interact with these days that has never seen a single star wars movie.
