I have some conflicting opinions about this movie.

On the one hand....

This is truly deserving of the label "absurdist comedy-drama". There are some moments when they get WILD and I feel like I have to give them some respect for being creative. I cannot think of a recent example off of the top of my head of a movie this crazy.

On the other hand....

I can see how some people might see all the wild stuff in the film and call it a distraction from the fact that the underlying story is pretty basic.

I think I could recommend this for anyone that is looking for just a fun film but I have to put the warning on this that there is a good amount of subtitles (a lot of mandarin) and the R rating is deserved for some of the crude humor (Example: A man is beaten to death with a large dildo).

Side note: The main male character in the movie is played by Ke Huy Quan. I did not realize this but was watching a review about the movie (after watching it) and found out this was the kid Short Round from the Indiana Jones movies and apparently he has not done any major acting in like 20 years. Could have fooled me! He did a solid job.
